Our philosophy: Founder Anja Fischer aims to take people on a journey even while reading – through inspiring stories, authentic encounters, atmospheric imagery, and an attention to detail that creates “moments of happiness.” Charmingplaces embodies a mindset: travel consciously, experience more fully, and see beauty – both abroad and at home. The platform provides not just travel tips, but also ideas for bringing a piece of the “Dolce Vita” into everyday life.
Our team consists of experienced travel professionals, professional journalists, and copywriters with extensive expertise in boutique hospitality.
About Anja Fischer: With over 25 years as owner and managing director of a renowned boutique travel company, Anja has a deep understanding of style, quality, and attention to detail. In response to the digitalization of the travel industry and the post-Covid shift in personal travel advice, she launched Charmingplaces in 2020.
Charmingplaces is a platform that stays true to her values: quality over quantity, authenticity over appearances, inspiration over comparability. Today, Charmingplaces is an established inspiration platform featuring carefully curated accommodations, primarily across Europe.
The business model is based on partnerships with hoteliers who pay for their listing – not on commissions or bookings. Editorial independence and credibility remain paramount, as Charmingplaces is not just a name, but a promise: for quality, style, and the extraordinary – for places to be experienced, not just visited.

Images & Content
What are the requirements for photos for first publication (quantity, format, resolution)?
We place great value on an appealing, stylish visual presentation that is more reminiscent of a high-quality travel magazine than a simple photo gallery. To ensure a harmonious and inviting presentation, we kindly ask you to carefully select your best photos.
What we need from you:

Delivery: via download link (e.g. WeTransfer or SwissTransfer) – please do not send individual emails or use WhatsApp, as these methods are often blocked or not usable.
Can I submit new photos during the term to update my page?
Yes, updates are possible, but they are time-intensive since each photo is SEO-optimized and harmoniously integrated into the article. A mid-year update incurs a fee of €200. During a contract renewal, article revisions can be included at no additional charge.
What about photo requirements for contract renewal?
Upon renewal, an article revision is included without extra fees. Please submit:
- 50–60 new high-quality images (JPG, min. 300 KB)
- Indicate whether all images should be replaced or partially retained
- Specify any text adjustments or new information to include
- Deliver via download link
How often is my profile page updated?
Your profile is updated upon request or when content changes. No automatic updates occur.
Can I preview my profile, Hot Deals, Best List, or Top 5 ranking before publication?
Technical previews are not possible. Our editorial team ensures aesthetic quality before publishing. You will be notified once live, and changes can be implemented afterward – please indicate the photo numbers for any replacements.
Performance & Bookings
How can I see if my Charmingplaces promotion is successful?
We prioritize transparency. Using the GDPR-compliant tracking tool Matomo, we measure at least annually:
- Number of article readers
- Clicks to your website
- Hypothetical revenue estimates based on traffic
How can bookings generated via Charmingplaces be tracked?
You may provide a tracking code to monitor bookings from our channel. Keep in mind, the time between inspiration and booking can be days or weeks. Guests may book directly via your website or other channels. We recommend asking guests upon arrival how they discovered you.
I received several inquiries via the form, but no bookings – why?
Most visitors click through to your website to check prices and availability. The inquiry form is rarely used and often without full knowledge of your rates, so inquiries may be non-binding. Consider a follow-up process to contact potential guests a few days later to clarify their intentions.
Collaboration & Renewal
How does membership renewal work?
Membership automatically renews for another year unless canceled in advance (see notice period below). We value partnership and encourage feedback before any cancellation.
What is included in the renewal?
- Continued promotion on our website (~70,000 visitors/month)
- Article revision with new photos and text adjustments (no fee)
- Additional perks from our add-ons (Top 5 listing, social media posts, newsletter mentions, special promotions)
How and when can I cancel my membership?
Written cancellation by email is required three months before renewal.
How often will I be promoted?
The promotion modules included in your membership are outlined in your individual offer from your Hotelscout, including details on social media, newsletter, and other activities.
Does anyone from your team visit in person?
Personal visits are ideal, but pre-listing visits are not always feasible due to travel costs. We maintain close contact and regularly conduct “Roadtrips” to visit existing partner properties. These trips generate ideas, photo shoots, and inspiration for future content. Pre-listing, we rely on careful selection and research, combined with intensive personal exchange – by phone, video, or in-person if timing and geography allow.
Guests & Booking Process
Can guests book through Charmingplaces?
We act as brand ambassadors for your property – not as a booking intermediary. Our role is to make your Charmingplace visible to the right audience and to drive direct bookings through your own website.
Charmingplaces is not a travel operator and does not take commissions. Guests are inspired by our editorial content and reach your booking platform via direct links.
This ensures that your property maintains direct contact with guests, and you retain 100% of the booking revenue – without any intermediaries. We provide reach, trust, and visibility among a target audience that values quality, authenticity, and personality.
Purpose & Impact of Promotion
How can I tell if my promotion through Charmingplaces is effective?
Transparency is key for us – and we can guarantee that you reach a highly curated readership. Through high-quality content, carefully selected images, and authentic storytelling – all created by real authors, not AI – we address precisely the audience that fits your property.
This means there is no risk: your membership fee is very reasonably aligned with the reach and quality of these guests.
What we measure and provide regularly:
- Website visitor numbers
- Readers of your individual article
- Clicks from Charmingplaces to your website
We also provide a calculation showing the potential revenue that could theoretically result from this reach. This scenario is deliberately conservative, giving you a clear point of reference.
